a little bit of our love story

This fall marks 10 years I’ve been married to Chris. I was looking back at some of our wedding pictures. We got married before everything was digital and at a time where most wedding photography consisted of 25 poses that every photographer did. I wanted more candid and casual (much like what is the current trend in wedding photography). Back then it was almost impossible to find a photographer with the style I wanted. So, I asked two friends who had worked with me on our high school yearbook as photographers to capture my wedding. I am so grateful they said “yes”. All the pictures are on film and I need to pay to have someone convert them all over to digital for me. Here’s a couple that make me smile:

The day of the wedding my sweet friends indulged me by helping me decorate a field for the ceremony later that night. That’s me with the flower thing. My grandpa built a little stand for Chris and I. It was a HOT day…and I was sporting my converse then too.

There was a tent behind the seats for the wedding party to wait in. This is my friend Mandy and I watching guests arrive. I tore a hole in the sheet so I could see out.

Announced as Man & Wife. We were pretty excited about that.

My grandma made our cake. She asked if I had a cake topper, I told her I did. I didn’t show it to her until the day of the wedding. I wasn’t too sure how she’d feel about my odd topper on her beautiful cake!

We look so young & happy. We’re older & happier now.

Danielle asked me to be a part of her A Love Story series in February. It didn’t work out with my schedule then, but she was gracious enough to let me share it now. So…if you want to read about the start of my love story with Chris you head over to Take Heart
