I mean, what is it I really do exactly?

It’s the end of the month and my monthly contributor post on Design Aglow is up and my Design*Sponge one is just around the corner. I’ve been filling out paperwork for different things lately and the “Occupation” question always gets me.  Obviously, I consider raising my kids to be over and beyond the term “occupation”, however not too long ago I filled that blank in with “Photographer”. Now I am lost as to what to say.

In many ways I now have an occupation as a “Crafter/Blogger”….I mean I could write “crafter” since I am a diy contributor for Design Aglow & Design*Sponge, but again…I’m pretty sure people would think I was joking if I wrote that on a form. And, basically everyone is a blogger so I feel ridiculous writing that.  When people ask what I do I never mention this blog. I think most people consider blogging/crafting as a hobby and something not too serious. For me, I do take this blog seriously….I wouldn’t spend the time writing it if I didn’t. So that makes it weird to talk about I guess.  So back to my “occupation” question. I don’t have any need to fill that space in. I am perfectly good leaving it blank, but leaving it blank also feels like I am leaving out a big part of what I do these days. Nontheless, “Crafter/Blogger” is just too odd to write, so I guess I will just continue to leave that space blank. When Martha Stewart asks me to come craft with her on her show…then I’ll fill that blank in with “Crafting Blogger”….pretty sure that would be the only way I’d feel justified in not leaving the question blank anymore!

And on a totally random note – I am working in the garden. Last week look what I found buried in the soil:

Ummmm YES that is part of the SunChips bag that was supposed to no longer be recognizable. Granted, I did not turn my compost as much as I should, but the bag said 13 weeks….I added it to the compost bin in AUGUST. Evidently, I need to get my composting game on….then I can call myself a Composting Crafting Blogger. Sweet.
