That Big Bird is a wise one

So it was great to read all your comments yesterday. Thank you to those of you that commented for the first time, I appreciate it. Want to hear something crazy? Yesterday I included a picture of my 4 year old’s favorite book, Shark vs. Train. The author, Chris Barton, left a comment! If my 4 year old understood what my blog is, I’m pretty sure I’d earn some ‘cool mom’ points with him for that. But he doesn’t….so I told Chris and I won some ‘cool’ points with him instead.

Yesterday I mentioned shoes, well I am again today 🙂 I have small feet. My mom and sister do too. It can be annoying. You might be surprised to know that not many stores carry small sizes in women’s shoes. All the really cute shoes are in the bigger sizes. Every now and then Target might have a 5.5 in a cute style, but even those are often too big. My sister always seems to find shoes that fit us, but I learned back in high school that she doesn’t appreciate me borrowing her shoes. Her feet are narrow…mine are wide. Sorry, Lesley, about all the shoes of yours I stretched out.

There are upsides to small feet. Like buying Converse. While most women shop in the ladies sizes, I can pick up a pair for myself in the little boys section for a cheaper price. Mine are as dirty as a little boys.

I wear a 2.5 in little girls shoes. I am pretty sure some of the girls in my son’s first grade class have bigger feet than I do. The thing about little girls shoes is they often look like they were made for someone under the age of 12 and they tend to be pretty narrow. Sometimes it is hard having small feet.

However, on a rare occasion I find the perfect little pair of girls slip-ons at Target for way cheaper than the ones in womens sizes. Sometimes it is easy having small feet.

That Big Bird is a wise one. And that Target needs to start carrying more small sizes….or remove the glitter on the girls 2.5!
