Front Porch Sitting {Article Outdoor Furniture}

Spending the majority of our time in the backyard, we often miss out on the beautiful front porch views of the sun setting. Our house had a wrap around porch when we bought it 13 years ago. A couple years later we ended up converting part of the porch into a laundry room (great decision for a large family).

Up until now, we’ve had a hodge lodge of different fold up chairs and an old pallet bed on the front porch and have definitely never taken full advantage of our big front porch or the peaceful surroundings out front.

I’ve had the honor of collaborating with Article throughout my home. In fact, if my dad or grandpa didn’t build it – it is most likely from Article. I’ve continued to work with Article for so many years because I am truly a fan. Our new front porch furniture from Article arrived about a month ago and we’ve been using it non-stop – thanks to an unusually warm November!

In considering the furniture we wanted on the porch there were two main hopes in my mind:

  1. Something we could pile lots of people on and we could lay down on
  2. Rocking chairs – I love rocking chairs

With those things in mind I picked the Calllais sofa, 2 Lynea rocking chairs, and the Olen side table (I picked the pieces and Article provided them for this collaboration). What sold me on the Callais sofa was the wood shelves on each end. One of my biggest issues with sofas is not having anywhere to stack a book, place my mug, or set other items on unless I have a table nearby. This sofa is basically two side tables, a sofa, and a daybed combined in one!

The rocking chairs and side table are perfect for chatting and watching the sunset – or enjoying a morning coffee out of the direct sunlight. I am so thrilled with them. They are made of solid eucalyptus and woven polypropylene.

In the summer our front flowerbed is full of zinnias, sunflowers, dahlias, and so many other flower varieties. I’m already looking forward to mornings on the porch watching the hummingbirds and soaking in the start of a new day.

For now, we will enjoy the front porch until it just gets too cold. I’m thinking of moving everything into the living room and rearranging things for the winter. I am confident the sofa would look pretty great with the green ones inside…at least until the spring comes again!
