at home workouts {for the family, no equipment needed}
Back in March when everyone went into quarantine I was wanting to keep my family moving for the couple of weeks we’d be away from our Crossfit gym. I put together simple workouts for my family to do at home together and thought other parents might find them helpful too. Regular exercise has countless health benefits and working out together as a family – some pretty incredible benefits there too.
I came up with 4 weeks of workouts and opted to post them on my @sycamorewell feed. I figured 4 weeks would be plenty and we’d be back to the gym – wrong on that time frame! Over those weeks I received a lot of positive feedback from parents and individuals that were enjoying the simple workouts, so I kept going. And going.
I’ve now been posting workouts M-F for nearly 6 months. Not ever something I intended to do, but if it helps families and kids – I’m all in.
With distant learning now in place for so many, it is crucially important for kids to be moving! My hope is that the 15 minute workouts would help kids move and that the adults in their lives would join in with them.
If you are looking for something to add to your schooling at home curriculum, I invite you to join us each day for a workout.
You don’t have to go outside.
You don’t need equipment.
You only need 15 minutes.
Every movement can be modified to make to make them easier or more difficult. You can make it work in whatever space you have. You can increase or decrease the reps and the duration of the workouts. Just move. Together. And laugh…and sweat.

Also: I am posting videos of the different movements in my Instagram Reels. New to reels? To find them, after you click on my profile look for the circles about the grid of photos. You will see one labeled “Reels” this will explain how to find the videos.
