a few from our Thanksgiving week
Last week was full of downtime, family, friends, and more downtime. We hosted a Friendsgiving for some 10th graders, made too many desserts, saw Frozen 2, kicked off Thanksgiving morning with friends at Crossfit, had a post workout breakfast at Waffle House, and rearranged furniture for wrestling matches and space heaters.
It was simple. Good. And allowed for lots of time to just sit back and soak it all in.
Usually we do a run on Turkey Mountain on Thanksgiving, but this year things were moved inside. Last weekend traditionally we would have gone to the tree farm and picked out our Christmas tree, but after a couple years of spiders hatching in our tree we are resorting to a fake one. Ugh. I LOVE traditions and it can be a big bummer for me when I have to give them up. I dream of traditions that last not years, but generations. However, with change also means new things to embrace. I guess I’ll spray my fake tree with some essential oils and call it good.
