delighting in ‘weeds’

The girls and I took a weekend trip with my wonderful mother-in-law to celebrate my niece at her bridal shower. When we left the field was brown. When we arrived home 3 days later – my daughter’s favorite purple “flowers” arrived.

After finishing up some of our school work, she went outside for a break. When she didn’t come back in after a while, I looked out the window to see her in her element…in her favorite flowers.

Naturally, I grabbed my camera and headed outside…

Meanwhile, her brother was outside doing school and letting the chicks enjoy some outside time too!

For as long as I can remember this girl has been looking forward to, celebrating the beauty of, and delighting in what most people call ‘weeds’. There is a great life lesson in that for the rest of us!
