a little bit at a time until it is done - Ashley Ann Campbell

a little bit at a time until it is done

Earlier this week our back porch was featured on the Barn Light Co. blog, Shed Some Light. We are still so grateful to have a space out back serving as some sanity from inside and the exterior lights are one of my favorite aspects of the area. It feels good to have one spot that is not ‘under construction’ in some way. You can read the interview on the Barn Light blog:

My friends have slowly stopped asking, “So when do you think you will be done?” and “What have you been up to?” Probably because my answers are always the same. “Never.” and “Caulking. Painting. Sanding. Moving piles.”

We will get there.  The kitchen is looking more like a kitchen. We won’t have a sink or water for a while, so it isn’t really functioning as our kitchen. However, one day I will wash a dish in a sink in a kitchen again. It will be glorious.

Below are my favorite progression photos – a good reminder of how far we have come! The focus of the kitchen will be the tables that friends, family, neighbors, and strangers can gather around. We are planning tables that will fit at least 12 and extend to fit 24. One day this view will be those tables filled with people and life! (I’m sitting in the same spot in all 4 photos)

The next photo in the series will hopefully be the finished shot. Once we finish the kitchen we will start finishing the upstairs, master bedroom, and breezeway. We are months and months from it all being done, but each day we chip away a little bit. Eating an elephant one bit at a time….
