thankful for the wait
I’m savoring this new view – the dirt and rock and concrete. I want this view etched in my memory when one day I look down a long table filled with family, friends, and strangers. We drew up plans for this project 8 years ago. There were 15 years between the day I knew I would adopt and when I finally held my youngest daughter in my arms. It would be nearly a decade between when Chris finished his masters degree and when he began his current job in the foster care realm (a job that seems made just for him). There is something sacred about the perspective and gratitude that comes as a result of waiting. Today, I’m grateful for the wait.
