entering adulthood {at least his gums are} - Ashley Ann Campbell

entering adulthood {at least his gums are}

I was sitting on the couch after a long day and suddenly my oldest came running with a big grin and one very missing tooth. Yep, my oldest lost his first tooth. Milestone. Happy, yet sad mommy. Really…is he old enough to start getting his adult teeth? His Nana told him about the Tooth Fairy and that the Tooth Fairy pays more money at her house than at his. He wanted to put his tooth under his pillow with a note asking that the tooth to be left behind so he could take it to his Nana’s. “Sure.” I said. Bummer for him though I made him wait a night until I could make a cute little Tooth Bag 🙂 One day he can tell his friends how his mom always made him wait until she could make something cute for whatever it was he was waiting on.

Don’t look too closely at the sewing…I only spent about 10 minutes on it and winged it as I went.12.09tooth-1

Can’t tell the tooth is gone in this one, but I just like it.12.09tooth-212.09tooth-312.09tooth-4

Again…everything becomes a wrestling match…even “I pulled my first tooth” photoshoots. I think if I took everything out of their room and just padded it floor to ceiling they’d be in heaven. Sure would make for easy clean-up…just throw a blanket on them at night and we’d be golden.12.09tooth-5

I think everyone needs friends who don’t take them too seriously. I know I do. I am so grateful my close friends are supportive, encouraging, inspiring, and fun. BUT I am equally as grateful that they feel the freedom to poke fun at me – which they do 🙂 I attempted my hand at making baby shoes recently and was called both “Geppetto” and “Cobbler” – thanks Erin. Well evidently all my friends were at a Christmas party that I had to miss due to a sick little boy. Chris stopped by at the end of the party and I am not sure how it all unfolded, but they gave him the Dirty Santa gift no one wanted and joked that he should take it home to me “so Ashley can repurpose it”.

So…I took that challenge.

Here’s what he brought home:framechallenge-01

and here is what was inside:

framechallenge-02I believe someone told the person that won this that she should make a bow out of it for her baby’s hair, so I had to attempt that.

Here is what I madeframechallenge-03

framechallenge-05I’m not super crazy about the bow thing, but I do like my new frame!
