Be Crafty Mother + Daughter {wrap up} - Ashley Ann Campbell

Be Crafty Mother + Daughter {wrap up}

Last fall Amanda and I, along with my eldest daughter, hosted a Be Crafty Mother + Daughter workshop. Before we even got that workshop packed up, my daughter started asking about hosting the next one. I’m not sure if I forced Amanda to drive back down to Tulsa (from MN) or if she offered, either way we knew one little 7 year old girl would not let us off the hook.

My friend Jessie captured the day for us – if you are local, she is booking fall sessions!

The day was sunny and beautiful. Over 100 Mother + Daughter pairs joined us for a little outdoor crafting at On The Lawn at Restore House. Amanda and I decided we could go a little overboard with the whimsical decorations since there would be young girls attending too. SO MUCH FUN.

I remember when this area was their backyard and our collective 10 kids ran around tackling each other and playing soccer. Now it has a gorgeous barn structure and it has been so fun watching the lawn evolve into a welcoming space for our community. The gold letter balloons are from North Star Balloons. The honeycomb balls are from Shop Sweet Lulu.10-16becrafty-710-16becrafty-910-16becrafty-1010-16becrafty-11Laurannae Cupcakes provided the yummiest mini cupcakes. Sidenote: if you are in the Tulsa area there will be a Backyard Market at Restore House this Saturday. Laurannae Cupcakes will be there too – come grab a cupcake. If you see me, say, “hi!”10-16becrafty-12There were SO MANY giveaways and swag items for the workshop. So many that Amanda and I will be dedicating a whole post to them tomorrow. We will also be doing a big giveaway for a swag bag (…and a SnapShop membership!), so check back tomorrow!10-16becrafty-13DecoArt sent tons of paint in the prettiest colors. You guys know I am a huge DecoArt fan. When you find a company that is wonderful to work with and has a top notch product, well it is easy to share! Amanda brought her yarn stash. I meant to sneak them out of her car and not let her take it all home, but I forgot.10-16becrafty-1410-16becrafty-16Amanda, my daughter and I each shared how to do a different craft and then the moms and daughters got busy creating.10-16becrafty-1710-16becrafty-1810-16becrafty-1910-16becrafty-110-16becrafty-2010-16becrafty-2110-16becrafty-22That’s Jaime in the center…my friend and Restore House owner. It was her birthday, so we made her wear a Bracket party headband. I’m grateful for her friendship and count it a joy to watch as her dream of creating a place for people to gather comes true.10-16becrafty-23I told Amanda I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to fit everything in the swag bags! Each bag included a sheet with all the sponsors’ names and Instagram handles – more on that tomorrow with the giveaway!
10-16becrafty-24I’m thankful that is random blog provided me an opportunity to meet so many incredible friends online – including Amanda. I’m grateful for the chance to create an outlet for moms and daughters to get a little one on one time together. I’m not sure how I ended up here, but I’m so thankful I did.
10-16becrafty-2610-16becrafty-27Thank you to those of you that joined us.

Thank you to my mom for working non-stop behind the scenes. Thank you to my friend Jenn for helping coordinate everything. Thank you Lesley for your button making awesomeness and all the other ways you helped. Thank you Jessie and Amy for capturing the day. Thank you to all those that came early and stayed late to help us prepare and clean up.

Thank you to Chris for taking our other 4 camping – I’m still not over the fact you took my coffee machine with you, but I’m working on it.

Amanda is sharing a re-cap on her blog today too. You can visit her blog to read it!
