DIY {homemade finger paint/goop}

Another addition to my new blogsite is going to be fun, SIMPLE (because with 3 kids I don’t have time for things with lots of steps!) Do It Yourself projects. Some will be beautiful things for your home, others will just be fun stuff to do with your kids. This first one is a simple non-toxic, washable finger paint/goop. The longer you cook it depends on if it will be more of a paint or more of a goop. We invited a couple of the boys friends over, put on swimsuits and let them go at it….clean up was simple by setting up the sprinkler. I made a NO PAINT BRUSH rule, but if you like things cleaner you could set up an easel and use brushes…

Combine 4 tablespoons of sugar & 1/2 cup cornstarch together; add 2 cups cold water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the desired thickness is reached. (It will get thicker as it cools). Add food coloring as desired.

Since it is just sugar and cornstarch you don’t have to worry about it getting in little mouths, which is pretty important at my house!
