Christmas Tree Hunting {2015}
Tree hunting. We try to plan our visits during times that we are about the only ones in the field. My kids semi-pretend to care about what tree we pick. Really they are there for a big game of tag. Running among the trees is their favorite part of our annual trip to the tree farm.
Eventually, we round them all up around a tree.For the first time, Chris did not lay down on the ground to cut the tree. Weird. My boys cut down our Christmas tree. So weirdly cool. A friend of mine recently reminded me of what a gift it is to watch our children grow up. Often parents make little comments about how they wish their kids would stop growing. This ability to watch a child grow, to be present as the years transform a life – it is a tremendous gift, a gift that many long for and far too many take for granted.
So, this year I watched my guys cut down our tree and I soaked up the immense privilege it is to be present to watch them grow.Waiting on me to set the camera up for our annual shot…After nearly 2 years of owning my Canon 6D, I finally set up the wifi function. So for the first time, I was able to use my iPhone to view what my camera saw. I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to set this up. I can shoot using my phone and access my camera roll from my phone. I think I’ll start posting more DSLR shots with settings to Instagram now.2007-2015
