ending the day, chasing the light
Last night I found my oldest daughter waiting outside for her dad. They had dinner plans. I snapped a quick photo with my phone….
I’m a fan of phone photography, but my phone is still my second choice when it comes to my camera. I pretty much would always prefer to have my dslr, it just isn’t as easy to carry!
I asked my daughter if she minded if we grabbed my camera and I took a few more photos of her. The light was beautiful and it had been a long, busy week. Picking up my camera and chasing light was exactly what I needed.
Photo tip: I usually start messing with my settings ON MY WAY to where I am shooting. I wasn’t ready to start taking pictures of her, but I knew where I was headed. I pointed my camera in the direction I would be shooting and started making adjustments.
This is darker than I wanted…just starting to find my settings. 50mm lens, ISO 160, 1/2500, f/2.8
Then she started out ahead of me and I kept making adjustments…50mm lens, ISO 160, 1/1600, f/2.850mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.850mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.850mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.850mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.850mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.8Then her daddy showed up…50mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.850mm lens, ISO 160, 1/500, f/2.8 ~ ISO 160, 1/400, f/2.8Ending the day.
