beach tuff {the lazee move} - Ashley Ann Campbell

beach tuff {the lazee move}

Last spring Little One and I traveled to Pennsylvania to spend a few days with my friends the Weldons. It was an incredible trip for a million and one reasons. Seeing our girls together and knowing how their stories are woven was just incredible.

penn-1In the course of conversation, Angie told me about how her in-laws spent years dreaming up a way to make going to the beach easier. As the parents of six kids, they brainstormed ways to make carrying all that gear to the beach easier than in their arms and on their backs. They drew up sketches, made plans and even got a patent. Then they hit a standstill. They raised Angie’s husband and his five siblings.

Angie excitedly told me about how Clint’s sister had started putting those dreams and ideas in motion again. Beach Tuff Lazee Move was on the production line.  You can read their whole story here, but basically she took her parents dream, partnered with others and made that dream a reality.

Back in the spring Angie was anxiously awaiting seeing the culmination of all that in an actual product. A few months ago, she told me they were in production and asked if I wanted one. Of course, I did! I may not live near a beach, but I sure could appreciate a way to get all our sports gear and items on the fields during game seasons.

The second day we were at the beach I texted Angie to tell her I sure wish I had that beach cart. After carrying 7 towels, a cooler of snacks & smoothies, body boards, sandcastle buckets and everything else – I could appreciate an easier way. Angie surprised me and said they were ready to ship and she’d check on overnighting me one!

I felt pretty special getting an overnight delivery in Galveston!

So…here is a peek at my BeachTuff Lazee Move Combo:

So let me explain it…it is a chair, that attaches to a base and uses a net to hold everything together. The chair can fold down flat to lay on or be used in a sitting position. We loaded it all up, strapped the net on and hit the beach. To get to the beach we had to cross a bridge, go down stairs and cross the sand. At one point I had Little One in one arm and pulled the Lazee Move up the stairs and to our place with my other arm. And it was easy. Those big wheels are something.

This is the base. It opens up to store things inside too.  10.13beachtuff-4 10.13beachtuff-5 10.13beachtuff-6

He started with one girl in his arms and then the older sister joined in the fun. Nothing beats their daddy’s arms. And, I wasn’t joking about the beach being empty. Those other blue spots are trash cans. Evidently cloudy days in October aren’t prime beach going days in Galveston. 10.13beachtuff-8 10.13beachtuff-10

I am so happy for Angie’s family. It is incredibly cool to me how a daughter made her parent’s dream come true. How parents focused on raising their kids and didn’t realize those kids would later make their business dream come true. I just love everything about their story. Watching Angie and her extended family combine their various gifts and talents to make this a reality – I just can’t imagine how it makes her in-laws feel.  So inspiring.
