hodge podge pics
Wow…there are a lot of green thumbs reading this blog! Thanks for all your advice. It is a little overwhelming now, but I think I will start with these few main points I gathered from you:
- I need bigger pots
- I need to buy a peace lily (or 10)
- My ferns are probably going to bite the dust first
- I need to check to see which plants are toxic…don’t want to hurt the cat
- Ice cubes, who knew? (Frying pans! Who knew, right?)
The kids have been growing beans in every available object that they can find. We’ve got a lot of little beans sprouting around here. If all else fails, I’ll just grow beans…and sweet potatoes and avocados!
I’ve been taking photos here and there with my iPhone. Some I post on Instagram as part of a little project on there to record something I am thankful for each day. So, if you are on Instagram you might have already seen some of these. I don’t think I’ve shared any on here yet, but I could be wrong.
While in China I got stationery from my daughter’s birth town. On the day adoption stuff was made official on the US side, I wrote and mailed her a letter from China. I wasn’t sure if it would actually make it to Oklahoma, but it did! ~ The boys and I are going to Chinese school once a week…I used to think I catch on to things easily. It is hard! We’ll stick it out in class the rest of the year, but I think some kind of mandarin videos would be better. Any suggestions?
“Mom, if we run she can’t play chase with us. If we crawl, she can play too!” ~ my oldest
The kids and I made bread and butter. I felt very little house on the prairie. ~ Little One is a snuggler..she just nestles in and I LOVE it!
A few days ago there was comment about it being good to see me in more pictures. I actually take a lot of pictures with the kids, but most of them are being goofy with my phone. I know there was a recent article in the Huffington Post about mom’s being in photos, but back in 2009 there was a flickr challenge I had read with a similar story. It was called Aleida’s Challenge…I’ve made a point of being in photos since. I just don’t always post them. My friend Emily has be hosting Embrace the Camera for several years encouraging moms to get in front of the camera. You should really check it out.
All 5 of my kids in one shot (kind of) ~ Little One holds on tight to my fingers now!
A little over a week ago I celebrated my birthday…”33″. I had Chinese school with the older boys that day and my sweet friend brought drinks and cookies to class to celebrate.
My in-laws have ‘mini’ cows. Seriously. They are mini cows. I am taller than they are and I am 5’1″. The kids are huge fans of the many mini cows. There is a mini bull that I really think needs a little girl in cowboy boots to learn how to ride it. Can’t you see FireCracker as a mini bull rider! ~ We recently booked Little One’s first surgery…her lip repair. It will be after the first of the year – we’ve delayed it after her arrival home for many reasons. I know I will love her new smile, but I am dreading saying goodbye to the grin that lights up my days right now.
FireCracker always wants to make me a cup of coffee ~ happy, happy mail from DecoArt
Camping – pre-throw up 🙂
A new family picture. Taken in front of the garage. Camera balancing on a ladder. FireCracker loving every minute of it. Little brother mad he is not holding cat. Oldest brother doing his goofball grin. Middle brother insisting on cat in picture. Little One distracted by birds. When I look at this picture I think, “Wow, we have a lot of kids. No wonder people stare when we file in line at Cherry Berry!”
