these boots were made for prancing - Ashley Ann Campbell

these boots were made for prancing

Thank you for all the great Chicago tips and anniversary congrats….it is all so appreciated and I am so grateful! In other news, she found my old cowboy boots. They are still a bit too big on her, but she looks awesome in them. I was putting away her laundry and she kept pulling things out to wear. Every item from her head to her toe, she picked out. When she was done, she took one look in the mirror. A big smile came across her face, and she declared “Bootiful!”. And she carried her little mirror around admiring herself.  She baffles me. She teaches me much.

I told her it was too hot to be outside in tights and she needed to take them off. She didn’t like that idea.

All the photos above were processed with the Bloom & Grow Action sets.

The thing about actions is you rarely want to just press ‘play’. For those of you that have played with actions on Photoshop, you know how fun they can be for quickly processing your images. I recommend using the opacity tool to lessen the strength of the actions you run. I also recommend using several actions….don’t limit yourself to just one.

I’ve never played with actions that are specific for skin. I know a lot of photographers prefer very perfect and even skin…skin that looks like it is glowing. Like all things in photography, using actions is a personal preference. I appreciate the use of actions to make my photos ‘pop’, but I prefer a more natural look to my processing, Below are two examples using actions. The first picture is how I typically use actions – just a tiny bit for tweaking. The second picture is with the skin action ran at 100%. I had fun seeing what skin specific actions could do….
