over the weekend

Thanks for all the encouraging comments about the Mpix ad….crazy stuff!

Late last week we headed out of state to a wedding….I wedding where I was “the wedding photographer”. I thought you don’t do weddings anymore. I don’t, but I share a special history with this bride. It was an honor to celebrate with her. It will take me a while to get through all the wedding pictures, I hope to share some next week. My mom went down with us so she could help with the kids while I was busy. We stayed in the family’s gorgeous cabin…and woke up early each morning to only the sound of wind in the pine trees. Little indians enjoyed cheerios on the deck at sunrise.

They also enjoyed running around the forest and wearing their pjs a little longer than normal.

This tower was previously in a national forest. It is a big climb up….

But the view was totally worth the climb.

I had a few outfits I had been wanting to get pictures of FireCracker wearing, but the blazing Oklahoma heat had prevented me from doing it sooner. I packed them away….knowing I’d be in some phenomenal scenery. The bride told me I’d enjoy taking pictures around the cabin…she was right. (romper from Poke A Dot Shop)

Can you tell she really likes to ‘model’? (dress from Whimsical Dragonfly)

Right before we left, they agreed to let me get some pictures of them all together.

Photo tip: If you notice the background on the first several compared to the last three…I started with a f/2.8 setting, then changed it to f/1.8. The kids were all on the same plane, they weren’t moving much and I was a good distance away. That allowed me to shoot at such a wide open setting and still get them in focus.
