it should not be allowed to be this cute

So many of you have been asking how FireCracker is doing. The answer is “great”. Her verbal skills have exploded and she is fully comfortable bossing all of us around to get what she wants. She’s happy, but a bit frustrated with the confines of her cast. We’ve made it one week and are hoping this ride ends by the end of May. I am working at finding the positives in this whole cast situation. The best one so far is the fact I can take pictures of her on her tummy. I have not been able to do this since the day she learned to crawl and quite frankly I’ve missed it. There is something just extra cute about little girls posing on their tummies. She can actually roll herself over so I don’t normally put her on the couch….like I said, this cast thing is like having a newborn again!

I know she is mine, but seriously…I have a cutie! This post is for the grandparents 🙂

“FireCracker” – her nickname fits 🙂

Photo Tips {Notes}: These were all taken with my 24-70mm lens on a Canon 5D. The settings were f/2.8, 1/100, ISO 320. There is a large window behind me (she is facing the window). It was late in the afternoon and it was a bit cloudy outside. She wouldn’t look at me much because her brothers were distracting her. However, I had my oldest stand behind me at one point to have a better chance of getting her to look my way. The photos all seem a bit blurry to me – which is due to the higher ISO and slower shutter speed. All the photos are tweaked just a bit in Photoshop (adjusted the contrast & saturation, web sharpening). The headband is from Sweet Pea Hats & More.

And because I just can’t help myself…how funny are these two next to eachother? Before FireCracker was born I convinced her older brother (who was 3 at the time) to try on one of the headbands I had bought. He has such great headband/bow hair. He’d go jedi on me if I said that aloud to him. Love. Love. Love.
