raising a challenger {non-traditional paths & a podcast}
He is a challenger. He loves a good debate, intense dialogue, and hashing stuff out. I don’t. For a long time I misinterpreted him challenging me in things as being disrespectful or rude. Sometimes it was, but most of the time it wasn’t. I’m still learning how to engage him and he’s still learning how to engage those that don’t like a good debate.
A few months ago he did a podcast with my brother & sister-in-law about navigating the teen years well. He covered everything from our differences, to his stock investments, to starting his own business, being raised by parents with non-traditional jobs, and what is ahead in the next few years for him. It was incredibly cool for me to hear his perspective on all of it.
If you are still reading this – here on my blog instead of instagram – chances are you have been hanging out with me online for a really long time. You’ve watched his early years play out in little tidbits and pictures here. I thought you might like hearing his actual voice and thought it could be an encouragement to those of you raising a kid that likes to argue or one that might choose a non-traditional path after high school.
