Sunshine Baked Goods
I don’t know much about mechanical things, but over the years I’ve learned a little about regulators. In mechanics a regulator controls the rate of work…at least that is my very basic definition. As my oldest daughter dives more and more into developing her skills as a baker, I find myself more and more in the position of her regulator. My job is pretty simple – take her shopping for supplies, cheer her on, be available, and guard her commitments. I help her regulate when she says, “Yes!” to an order.
She’s baking for friends quite a bit these days – lots of birthdays! I am very grateful that it is primarily cakes that go from the oven to out the door…if it were cookies I’d be in trouble. I thought I would share a few pictures from her recent creations.
She is learning to create in the chaos!
Sunshine Baked Goods – that is the name she selected for her new business (that only caters to friends and family per my current rules as her regulator). My sister created the cutest logo for her (box above). She is developing her own style while also learning new things based on the specific cake requests my friends make. She is learning as much from her mistakes as she is from the things that go right. It is pretty cool to watch her. My teeny cookie baker is growing up…
