Turning 14 in quarantine
I was snapping photos during one of Hudson’s games this winter and captured two of my favorite pictures of him in regards to telling the story of Hudson.
There he was in the middle of the game with only a couple seconds before the ref blew the whistle to resume play…and he was cracking jokes to make the ref laugh.
Today is Hudson’s 14th birthday. He is 150% an extrovert. He gets bored during the second transition from one thing to the next. He likes all things loud, ornery, funny, and people. He loves people.
The big party plans he had for his 13th birthday last year ended up not happening due to scheduling and me dropping the ball. He had two parties planned for this year and I was completely on board for making those happen. And then social distancing came. Its rough being a people person without extra people. I don’t actually understand any of that last sentence, but that is what he tells me and what I am observing in him! He is being a trooper, but he is definitely ready to be back with friends and extra people at our house.
Late last month he kept himself busy one day for a few hours making a video about being an introvert and extrovert in quarantine. He makes me laugh (among a bunch of other wonderful things).
We have other plans to make his day at home special, but I thought I’d send out a request to my online friends. Hudson loves to laugh, so what better gift for him than lots of laughs!
Would you share a funny joke, prank, link to a video that I can share with him today? A collective Happy Birthday for my quarantined 14 year old!
