Custom Nook Table {by my dad}

Yesterday, I shared the journey of building our breakfast nook. Today, I wanted to tell you a bit more about our table.

Once my dad finished building the benches for the nook he asked me what I was doing for the table. Surely he knows better by now. My plan was for him to build it – of course!

For the table top we used flooring boards from the upstairs – 5″ white oak from Native Character Hardwoods. It was $1.59 sq ft.My dad sent me pictures as he worked on it. I can’t tell you all the steps, but I can tell you it was a lot!For the table base I sent him two pictures of bases I liked. I told him just to pick what would be the most fun for him to build. He combined the two!

Yep, he is ridiculously talented! If he wasn’t so amazing at everything, I wouldn’t have him build and fix everything. It is a good thing he is retired because this whole house addition project would not happen without him.

Thanks Dad!
