family photo season {some tips}
We have not had a planned family photo since Corbett was shorter than me. I always think about family pictures in the fall when I start thinking about Christmas cards. However, I don’t like cold weather or fall colors as much as spring and summer….so then I don’t want to do pictures because it isn’t happy spring colors and clothes.
Anyway – we are getting new pictures soon. We need Michael in the photos and I’d just like a new one, so I’m dealing with the fall and figuring it out. I might make everyone wear summer clothes and stand in front of a white wall and pretend it is hot outside!
Look at those babies! That was June 2015. My friend Shannon took those. A new photo is definitely needed! My plan is to find a day and then pull out the tripod. I have a ton of friends who are photographers, but this is a super busy season for them.
If you are wondering how I’ll attempt to get photos on my own, I wrote a short photography lesson on that topic back in November 2014 for the Mpix blog.
I keep checking the weather hoping we will get a warm day with still some green on the ground and in the trees. It isn’t looking good for me. I take a million candid photos. My memory cards, photo albums, and walls are full of them. My preference is always candid, but it is nice to get a posed shot of everyone together (not in gym clothes) every now and then.
