Explore MT {Clark Canyon Reservoir}
On our whirlwind trip we drove 4 14 hour days. We had to make the most of the time and didn’t have the extra days to move slow…so we moved fast. On our second 14 hour driving day, we were just a couple hours shy of our destination when Chris and I noticed a lake off the highway.
Not just a lake, but a stunning, crystal clear Montana lake – Clark Canyon Reservoir. We immediately pulled over to take in the beauty.I decided to prop my camera on a sign and use my timer to get a family shot. Some families fake candid photos well. We are not one of them. Chris looks like he is struggling to see something and my third son looks like he is completely left out and bored. Oh well, I tried.It took all of about 5 minutes before Chris said, “I’m jumping in.” I knew the moment we exited the highway he would be jumping in the water. I also knew at least 3 kids, maybe 4 would be joining him. Since it was not the warm waters of Hawaii, I would not be jumping in. My fun has a limit. Cold water that makes every inch of my body hurt – definitely a limit to my fun!Thankfully most of my kids are more fun like their dad!
Chris and I are SO DIFFERENT (extrovert/introvert, feeler/thinker, get-it-done/perfectionist, etc.) and those differences can often lead to conflict. However, one thing we can always agree on is it’s never a bad idea to pull over and dive head first into adventure. Adventure. Not cold water.
