back when I shot a magazine ad
As I was working on the most recent SnapShop Online Photography School interview, I found myself scrolling through a post from 2009. I was part of the Mpix Rocks campaign and was asked to capture a photo the reflected myself as a photographer to be used in print ads.
Oh my goodness my kids were all babies and I am baffled by so much from that season of life. Thankfully I took a lot of pictures because I sure don’t remember much!
A better look at the result.
What I love most about this ad is that if you look closely you will notice things I didn’t realize at the time:
1. There is blue painters tape on the staircase that I forgot to remove after quickly painting the steps white that morning. There is always blue painter’s tape on something in this house. Real life.
2. The lamp does not have a lightbulb. I moved it to the playroom a month ago earlier and had never replaced it. Real life.
I never looked like that at home in the middle of the day. That was definitely not real life! And – wow – my kitchen is constantly changing. I am ready for a season of less change!
