Adventure pack {gift idea} - Ashley Ann Campbell

Adventure pack {gift idea}

Over the last year I have partnered with CLIF Kid to promote getting kids outside to play. Adventures outside are one of our favorite activities as a family and we’ve learned they are also top on the list of fun things among their friends. With 5 kids in our family, we attend a lot of birthday parties. The older the kids get, especially the boys, the harder it is to think of gifts their friends will love.

While living in China this summer we found a sporting goods store full of all our favorite things. We bought 3 new, BIG hiking packs and filled them all kinds of goodies. We also stocked up on small backpacks and hammocks – the perfect gift for those hard to-shop-for kids and teens! This has become our go-to gift for their friends this year.
What you need:

You could also include:

  • water bottle
  • Local or national park pass
  • Gift certificate to a sporting goods store

Most pre-teens already have a full size backpack. The small daypacks are perfect for short hikes or really anytime they need a smaller bag. Each of my kids have one and they are in constant use.

The hammocks are simply fun, portable, and don’t take up a lot of room. You can find good ones on Amazon for less than $10. The first-aid kit is a reaction to all my hikes with my kids. It never hurts to teach teens to be prepared and smart even when pushing the limits on an adventure.

It is a toss-up in my family between the CLIF Kid Zbar Filled Chocolate Peanut Butter and the CLIF Kid Zbar Chocolate Chip. If you are giving this gift to a kid or teen with dietary restrictions – the CLIF Kid Bar Protein bars are gluten-free!

Wrapping is super easy….add a tag, some ribbon (if the recipient likes frills) and a button. So, so easy and cute!

Since we attend a lot of parties, I ordered several of each item and kept them stockpiled. The kids were able to give their friends a fun and unique gift and I avoid scrambling at the last minute trying to find a gift for a hard-to-shop-for teen.

The only downside – I’m going to need to think of a new gift for 2018!
