on an adventure {guest post on Natalie Creates}

adventure-01

We’ve been asked a lot if we have any big RV trips planned this summer. Nope. We’ll be sticking around home this summer, but are looking forward to future trips.

Chris and I have always relished experiencing new places and new people. Cultures. Places. Nature. Cities. People. Our world becomes both bigger and smaller with each adventure outside our home. As we raise our 5 kids, we hope to share with them our love for exploring the world around them. Traveling – even if it is just a park 30 minutes away – is a lot different as a family of 7 than it was as a couple. We are learning as we go. We are dreaming of new places as we go.

I added a new Travel page to this blog – a way to easily access our travel posts. (see the sidebar on the left?). The new page is a place for me to keep all those posts in one place and maybe help others that are planning trips or out to explore, as well. I’m anxious to start adding new posts to the page again!

Right now, my friend Natalie is on a European adventure. For the past year, she and her husband have been planning and saving for a dream trip. While she is gone, she has guest posts and posts with tips related to traveling and planning on a budget. She asked me to guest post – an addition to her “Adventure Series”.

Here is an excerpt from that post:

“There was a time that my definition of adventure included huge trips or big moments. Skydiving. Trips overseas. Helicopter rides over islands. Adventures were big moments, not the little ordinary moments that happened everyday. I had to GO on adventures.

And then somewhere along the way, it all changed.

I realized I am ON an adventure. Everyday. Every moment. I can BE on an adventure right where I am today. It boiled down to perspective for me.”
