blue eggs are my favorite
Many months ago we bought our first six little chicks. Now there are several more chickens in the coop. We’re getting a lot of eggs, which makes the hope of giving away eggs a reality. I usually give away the blue ones first because they are such a surprise to kids. The blue ones are my favorite too.
We have one chicken that lays white eggs. Just one. I usually give those away, as well, because they look pretty mixed with the brown and blue ones.
I think my sister needs to create an egg label for me. Did you read that Lesley? Hop to it in all your free time!
She likes to examine the eggs, count the eggs, pick out her favorites and tell me which ones smell like chickens. Funny girl.
I’m so thankful for little things like eggs of different colors and chickens with funny personalities. I’m thankful for times of great margin and moments counting eggs. Slow pace is my favorite pace. It is a pace I want to fight for in my family when everything around us seems to be pushing for faster and hurried. I want the extra room to stop and count the eggs and smell a few flowers on the way. Slow and steady….slow and mindful and fully engaged in the present. I want to learn to linger…
