it is project time…and a Click Away announcement
I’ve got a couple weeks before school starts back up for the kids and before the January SnapShops kick off which means it is PROJECT TIME! I finished up two books: our 2012 family album (finally) and a compilation of all the adoption journey posts I wrote. It feels so good to have those done and checked off my list. I’m going to try to get going on 2013 soon so I can finish it before next December.
As time consuming as it is to make our yearly albums – it is always incredible to look back at a year of our lives together. It brings me crazy amounts of joy. Now I will anxiously await that Blurb box on my front door!
I’ve been working away in the studio room this week too. It is a complete mess. Things always look worse before they look better. Right?!
New wallpaper arrived yesterday…it will be hung today. Last night my dad and I worked on putting in a backsplash. He taught me to tile many years ago. Last night he taught my oldest daughter. She made the comment, “Mommy, this is so much fun!” That’s my girl.
In unrelated news, I have a surprising announcement….I am going to be a speaker at Clickin Moms’ first ever photography conference, Click Away! Honestly, I still can’t believe I said, “yes.” I feel so unqualified to speak at this event. I’m trying not to think about it until next summer. That is a lie. I think about it all the time. I’m not going to be ‘teaching’ photography – I’ll leave that for all the real pros that will be there. I’m going to be sharing about how photography can be an incredibly beautiful gift in our lives and the lives of others….or something along that line! I’m nervous. Already. So nervous!
That is a screen shot of only a few of the speakers…there are over 80 speakers. It is really strange to see my face in the midst of those super talented ladies. It reminds me of those fake magazine covers that you add your own face in digitally! My beautiful friend Joy Prouty will be giving one of the keynotes. I’m looking forward to hearing her share about chasing her dreams. It will be so good. She could just stand on the stage and smile and I’d be a happy camper.
