Embrace the Camera {making memories}
Emily and I are blown away by how many of you are joining us this week and embracing the camera. I had hoped to keep up with all the pictures shared on instagram under the hashtag #embracethecamera, but there are too many!!! It has been a complete joy to scroll through so many images of you guys with the ones you love. Thank you! We still have three more days.
For those that don’t know what I am talking about, you can read the full post here. In short, I want my kids to see me when they look back at old pictures. My friend Emily is passionate about this too. Several years ago she started hosting a weekly Embrace the Camera challenge. A way to come together as moms and challenge each other to let go of insecurities and get in front of the camera with our kids. This week Emily and I are teaming up to do a week of Embrace the Challenge – each day a different prompt to help you document YOU.
Here is my picture from yesterday (Making Memories):
Day 2: Making Memories. I want to remember the little things like tying shoelaces, princess dresses and deep talks about Legos at the table.
Photo by Chris (my husband), with the standard iPhone 5 camera, VSCO edit
Today’s Prompt: EVERYDAY MOMENT (you doing something that is a routine part of your days)
Thursday’s Prompt: CREATIVE (includes you in it)
Please join us on Instagram by using the hashtag #embracethecamera (just type that in your photo description and it will add it to the large collection of photos by others). If you share on your blog, we’d love for you to leave a link in the comment section here.
There are still some spots available for the Oct/Nov SnapShop: Phone course. The course is entirely online and approaches photography from the perspective of using your phone as your main camera. You can find more details on the SnapShop website.
Also, a reminder if you are a previous SnapShop: DSLR student, there is a 50% discount on the phone course. Email me at ashleyannphotography at yahoo dot com to register. If you already took the phone course and didn’t know about the discount, just email me.
