haircuts with my girls

I took the girls to get haircuts yesterday. FireCracker LOVES going to see Miss Loren. She relishes the whole experience..the hair washing, the head rubbing, the combing & cutting & drying & styling. The girl eats it up.

It was Little One’s first ‘real’ haircut. She watched her big sister, but was not convinced that the whole hair cutting thing was a fun idea.

“You want me to sit in that chair and do that?”

I was really hoping to get photos with my dslr of her getting her hair cut, but there was no way she was going to agree to sitting by herself, so she sat on my lap. Phone pictures had to do. By the way, this is the only time you will ever see me sporting an animal skin print. I shouldn’t say that….I know better. Just because I said that, next week I am going to find some awesome leopard print something to wear. Probably not.

While I held Little One during the hair cutting, her big sister took a bunch of selfies on my phone.

Once we got home, Little One was back in her comfort zone and goofy again. New places are still pretty difficult on her. She doesn’t skip a beat if she is somewhere familiar. New places are a different story. Slowly and surely she is getting better, but trips walking the aisles of Target or strolling a flea market are not happening for her. Good thing I’m a homebody too.

FireCracker with straight hair and Little One with a cute bob.

I either cut the boys’ hair or we go to Sports Clips. Special days visiting Miss Loren with FireCracker are extra fun. I’m confident the day will come when Little One enjoys it too. I took the boys with me once when I had to pick something up at Loren’s salon. They told me they prefer fast cuts while watching basketball with Cherry Berry next door. Haircuts with the boys and haircuts with the girls are totally different experiences – I’m thankful I get to enjoy them both….
