power tools not whiskers on kittens - Ashley Ann Campbell

power tools not whiskers on kittens

Chris bought plane tickets for Little One and l last night. A getaway with my youngest. I am so excited about this trip, I might not sleep for weeks. Anyone want to guess who we will be seeing in PA?

Spring fever is upon the Campbells….it just feels happy around here. Not every spring has been that way. It feels like in recent years we’ve had big things hanging over us or weighing us down each spring. This year things just feel slow, settled, calm. I’m going to soak this season up because I know all seasons come to an end and start again.

We are prepping our garden. It has been a couple years since our garden thrived. I have 4 kids busting at the seams to get the garden overflowing again. It is always so much easier when kids are on board and excited.

We are needing to beef up areas of the garden and are rethinking things in terms of how we garden. My brother-in-law has become a perma-culture expert (in my eyes), so one of these days hopefully he can help us move our garden that direction.  For now, we are going to go with methods we know and slowly incorporate the new things we are learning. Either way, we are having fun as a family and we are growing our own organic food – which is the ultimate goal for us.

So yesterday I posted the photo below on Instagram (I’m underthesycamore) with the caption “If I were Fraulein Maria, I’d sing about power tools, not whiskers on kittens.” My friend Kate responded with the best comment:

(sing along)

Tape measures and tool belts and bright yellow paint.

Hammers and saws and blue painters tape.

Burlap and twine and other long string.

These are a few of my favorite things.

That Kate is one talented song writer!
