not an emergency - Ashley Ann Campbell

not an emergency

Some of you noticed the red wall in yesterday’s post….one big wall in “Salsa” chalkboard paint. I only got one coat on and ran out of paint. I’m aiming at finishing it soon. Add it to the growing list of things I hope to finish soon. I did decide to tackle framing some prints this week. I got everything out and ready to go. I have an idea for an easy diy post for one of the prints and was hoping to share it this week.
But once I finally found a few minutes to work on it the boys came running in screaming, “EMERGENCY”. We don’t use that word around here often, so when I heard it, I went running.

Evidently when I taught them the definition of “emergency”, they somehow misunderstood to think that a cat up a tree falls under that definition. If you ask me there are 5 good reasons our cat would climb up the tree. All five of those reasons are in the form of little people who really like to shower Poppy in attention. If I were Poppy, I’d climb up that tree too.

In the end, they couldn’t reach her and begged me to get her down. I told her if she got up, she can get down.

Needless to say, I climbed the ladder and the tree to ‘rescue’ the cat.

The cat climbed right back up the moment I moved the ladder.

Emergency over. The boys went back to whatever interested them next.

And I never got the project started.

Those bare walls sure want to be decorated. Someday. Someday.
