Little One and her cousin

Well, yesterday went fine. There were tears involved, but I was able to quickly comfort her after it was all done. That is huge. I WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY COMFORT HER! Might sound small to some, but to us it is a big whoopin’ deal. She is trusting us. She is feeling safe with us. I kinda think she knows she’s home. Joy of all joys. I met a sweet family in the waiting room. Their daughter looked perfectly healthy on the outside. We got to talking and the mom turned to me with a smile and said, “You know I have an extra special daughter too. She looks like most kids on the outside, but on the inside she’s got some extra special stuff going on too. Your daughter is so beautiful.” It was good for my heart to sit with her and hear her daughter’s story. Another little warrior.

After we got home, my aunt stopped by with her new puppies. Lesley brought her girls over too.

FireCracker is always hugging and kissing.

Sweet cousins. My girl is 15 months old. Lesley’s is 6 months old (and is not a big baby). They are almost a year apart, just to give perspective. When most people meet Little One they comment how much smaller she is than what she seems on the blog. She is a petite thing – not even on the American growth charts. Yet.

Sweet little hand on her cousin’s shoulder. Another big deal. She doesn’t look at her hands too often these days. I would also like to point out the thick head of hair my girl is sporting….

Here she is a couple days after she was placed in our arms. Based on pictures we have, her head was shaved about once a month. It is fun getting to see her hair finally growing out.

What are you and why are you in my yard?

She was not so sure about the dogs. Her cousin’s hand resting on her leg makes me smile. I’m thinking these two are going to be great friends.

They are already working together to avoid looking at my camera. Stinkers.
