a few travel questions

Random day…I think Fridays on this blog are becoming a theme of randomness around here.

Just some shots from my phone:

I’ve been asked some questions about our trip and have not had a chance to respond in the comment sections, so here are some answers to some common questions:

How long will you be gone?

About 2 weeks.

Will you get to bring home your daughter on this trip or will you have to make another trip?

She will be placed in our arms on August 27th and I won’t be letting go after that…she’ll come home with us. No more trips. (update: earlier I wrote the 23rd…that is the day we leave, my mind is mush)

Why do you have to stay so long after you are united with your daughter?

There are lots of legal things that must take place. Lots of appointments. Passports. Visas. Medical exams. Just stuff that is necessary.

Will you be blogging or posting to facebook?

Yes, but I don’t know to what extent. We have a lot of friends and family that might get a little upset if we didn’t post pictures. And, well, I like blogging!  Not to mention, so many of you have been on this journey with us. You have encouraged me, made me laugh, made me cry, prayed for us…of course, I want to share this part of the journey too. We are taking measures to make blogging possible, but my priority will be my daughter. So, I’ll just be playing it by ear on that. I am not sure what facebook will look like. I doubt I do many updates there. So, if you are used to clicking over to posts from facebook – you might want to just skip facebook if you don’t see any updates.

I think that about sums up the more basic questions we’ve been asked.

And with that, I leave you with this:

Thank you mom for saving the dress you and grandma made me!

If you have ever wondered if my daughter and I have similar personalities…well those pictures pretty much sum us up. She is much more the life of the party than I have ever been or will ever be!
