missing my camera - Ashley Ann Campbell

missing my camera

The January SnapShop registration filled up last week and it began yesterday….which is funny because I am teaching a dslr workshop and I currently don’t have a dslr!

A year ago I took my camera in for a repair. When I went to pick it up, I got scolded for its dirtiness. I was also surprised at the huge difference it made in photo quality to have it cleaned professionally. I decided that I would make a point to have it cleaned once a year. January is usually a good time for me to part with it ~ if there is ever a good time to part.

I walked away from Tulsa Camera Clinic confident in the woman that runs the shop, but nervous leaving my camera behind. Ughhhhhh. I feel a bit lost without it. I’ve got to get my motivation up to use the camera on my phone in the normal mode, until then I just snapped a few completely random things with Hipstamatic. I like random. I like square pictures.

1.12squares-4My camera is really heavy, it is hard for my kids to hold…my iphone is much easier. They love taking pictures of me with it. I usually let them ~ I figure if I don’t want them to fight me when I photograph them, I have to set that example. Usually it works. I do, however, look at these and think, Wow…longer straight hair really accentuates my massive forehead, better not clip those bangs back anymore.
