diy {Ewok Flower Vase…Hanging Vintage Thermos Shelf} - Ashley Ann Campbell

diy {Ewok Flower Vase…Hanging Vintage Thermos Shelf}

There is an Urban Outfitters in Chicago…I bought a new rug for the living room. It makes me happy. Today I will be cleaning, cleaning, cleaning…so tomorrow I will share a pic of my fun new rug in my clean living room that actually got dusted.   While I was excited about my rug, Chris found a Star Wars craft book. The fact that the cover has scissors made of light sabers was a selling point for me. How creative is that idea! The boy are loving it. I, however, can only handle making so many felt wookies Ewoks in one day. (oops got my Star Wars characters confused…shocker)

The first thing the boys wanted to make was a Ewok Flower Vase. Once it was finished, my 5 year old declared, “Mommy…now you can start making our house look pretty.” Much to my dismay, the boys want to start with all the home decor crafts first…so our house “can start looking pretty”.

Meg has been posting sneak peeks of what is in store for Craft Weekend, so I thought it was my turn to share a bit. I get to help Meg with one of the crafts. It has been fun shopping and preparing…it is going to be such a great weekend!!!

And last, but not least, my September project for Design*Sponge will be posted sometime today. I need to write a post about why I love being a contributor on D*S…if you’ve never visited…go now….stay for a while! This was a fun project for me to tackle. It was my first time to use our jigsaw and a leather punch. One of my favorite aspects of DIY (do it yourself) is that is pushes me to try new things.

Right now it has a very autumn feeling to it, but I can easily change it out for spring & summer. You can see the full tutorial on Design*Sponge.
