brothers
So guess what….two weeks from today registration for my online SnapShop will begin! I’m so excited and nervous. I’ll be posting more details on the class later this week, but there is your heads up on registration. The course will begin the following Monday…..eeeeekkkkk!
The other day she decided on a whim to try out her bows. We have a ton, but she won’t wear them. I basically never fix her hair…just a little water bottle spray to make the curls bounce. The idea of ponytail holders and all that makes me nervous. I’m still used to boys. When the boys get out of the car on Sunday mornings I spray a little hairspray on their heads and brush crazy pieces down with my hand. Yes, the hairspray is in my car. Boys are easy. Low maintenance. They don’t do bows.
We were playing in her room…..
And then her big brother came him. Her new look caught him off guard a bit!
The boys don’t do bows, but they make their fair share of protective head gear. A little tape & paper is all they need for custom body armor.
Having 3 boys comes in handy when I find a spider. Granted, my daughter enjoys catching bugs just as much as her brothers. The boys, however, are more fun to watch with their swords and weapons protecting their mommy from big spiders.
They don’t play anything for extended amounts of time. They also don’t play anything that does not involve some kind of competition or battle. They are loud and active ALL DAY everyday. Things around here are never quiet or calm…..
Because a sprinkler and trampoline aren’t as exciting anymore, we added a pool. Fun has been taken up a notch.
They pick on each other and ‘fight like brothers’. They also sneak in a hit when the chances of a hit back are harder.
In the midst of the loud battles and laughter I treasure those little reminders that they have each other’s backs….instead of just hitting each other in the back. My youngest son dropped his cupcake at a birthday party over the weekend. Instantly his older brothers (and the birthday girl) scraped off icing from their cupcakes and put it on his. Little reminders that though they fight like brothers, they love like brothers too.
I hope you have a great Monday….and I hope you have someone in your life quick to give you their icing too.
