Day 10 {she’s got a great smile} - Ashley Ann Campbell

Day 10 {she’s got a great smile}

It has been a long time since I’ve had days upon days of one-on-one time with a little one. In the two years before my second boy arrived I spent everyday full absorbed in the day to day life with my firstborn. Though I would much rather be spending my days with all four of my kids, I am treasuring the sweet moments alone I have with my girl. We snuggle in her crib and laugh together…we are making priceless memories (though I am the only one that will actually remember!) I get this smile a lot right now.

I’m thankful I never knew you could get mail at the hospital. Now that I am here for an extended time, I’m grateful to receive sweet surprises.

A friend brought FireCracker her very first Barbie doll….with lots of hair!

5.20.11-03

Barbie gets 3 minutes of play and cuddles like the other toys.

Then Barbie meets the same fate as everything else. When she is done, she is done. She even dismisses the doctors and nurses with a wave and “bye bye”. Despite (or in part because of) her sassy self, I hear she is winning over a lot of the staff too.

Super awesome way of changing an angle on a baby that can’t move and super awesome bubble blower.

5.20.11-07

Her toes are the only part of that leg I can touch…I kind of have a really sweet spot for them right now.

5.20.11-10

She was given a princess camera. It says, “You’re as pretty as a princess.”

She doesn’t know what a princess is, but she laughs every time.

5.20.11-115.20.11-12

She is doing tremendously well, but still needs to improve a lot before they are able to put a cast on her to go home. Our original date to leave was next Monday…if bone doesn’t start growing that date will be moved back for as long as needed. That was really hard news to hear at 6:30am after a night of no sleep. So for those of you that are praying for my girl, do you mind praying that her bone with get strong enough for us to get a cast and leave on Monday? We sure will be happy to leave here!
