Day 9 {things helping the days pass} - Ashley Ann Campbell

Day 9 {things helping the days pass}

A few things helping us get by…the first day we were here I noticed FireCracker’s hair getting matted under her head. My sweet friend ran to the drugstore and picked us up some detangling spray. We have to use it about 3 times a day, but if we didn’t I think we’d have to shave her head when we get home! Coffee…for obvious major lack of sleep reasons. Masking tape…it is my fix all here. Blanket…of course.

Yeah, we are going to need a moving truck when we leave here.

Several of you have noticed the masking tape on her diaper. From day one her favorite game is to take off her diaper and throw it. She is on her back and the easiest way to be funny to her is to take off her diaper. She also thinks it is fun to hook her ‘good’ leg on the traction bar and swing both legs from side to side across the crib. She thinks it is funny to see me jump up quickly to stop her.

Thank you wonderful people who gave the world the gift of skype.

My oldest spent the night with us at the hospital. He told me he needed a little “peace and quiet” so he wanted to stay the night with us. It was nice to have him here. I miss having my whole family together at night under one roof. I miss holding my girl. I hate knowing it could be two months before I feel her little legs wrapped around my waist and her cute little rear in my arms. That is the hard part of all this. I want to scoop her up and carry her out of here. Her legs won’t be strong enough to walk when the final cast comes off…which means she’ll need her mommy to carry her all the time. I’m pretty sure I can handle that job!
