warning…pinterest is addicting
So a little while back I got a few emails from friends/readers telling me to check out Pinterest. When I first looked I was rushed and didn’t really understand the concept. A few days later I had more time to explore and I am so glad I did. I’m sure some of you are already Pinterest fans, but for those of you that haven’t heard of Pinterest yet – well you will now both thank me and hate me.
Pinterest is basically an online catalog for whatever you want to remember. Instead of bookmarking sites and inspiration, you can ‘file’ your finds on your personalized “boards”. I have boards for inspiration for my home, diy projects, party ideas, etc. So now instead of going through bookmarks on my internet toolbar or trying to remember where I saw something I can see photos of everything I’ve “pinned” in one place. To give you a better idea, here is my dashboard (it isn’t too full as I limit myself regarding time online):
So the idea is as you find things online you “Pin” them (this is a super simple process). Once pinned you choose which “Board” you want to file the idea away on. Another great thing about Pinterest is that it saves all links so you can always give proper credit to ideas that have inspired your own. Here is part of one of my “Boards”:
And just to give you alot of beautiful things to drool over….here are a bunch of my pins:
If you are interested in finding out more information regarding one of my pins you can visit my boards…all the pictures have links to where I found them or the original pinner found them (you can repin things you find on other’s boards).
