Water.
I don’t drink nearly enough of it.
I take it for granted.
I just assume it will always be there for me. Clean. Available at the lift of a lever.
I don’t worry when I see my kids take a guzzle that it might lead to sickness. To pain. To death.
Clean water. For other moms they dream of it.
Other moms walk miles to fill buckets with drinking water that is less sanitary than what drains from my kid’s bathtub after a mud fight.
Countless times a day I wash sticky little hands and clean piles of laundry in water.
Clean, safe, drinkable water…that I use for chores.
Water that would literally be a gift of life for many.
Lack of clean water is the #1 cause leading to death….
I have beautiful friends.
Friends that joined together because they want to use their blogs for good….for real beauty.
Friends that every year this season join together to fund water wells.
We are working together to build a well. Joining as a team…getting a well for a community. Awesome.
A water well that means life.
A water well that means a mom can watch her son drink and not have a pit in her stomach wondering what pain the water would lead to…
A water well that celebrates giving and working together to change lives.
To bring hope.
To show compassion.

We have running water in our African home (we live in a capital city in North Africa) and have a filter for our drinking water. We are never in need and never have to worry about sickness from the Nile waters. Even living in the midst of such need it’s easy to take our abundant clean water for granted.
