I’ve been slowly reading through a new magazine called Seeing the Everyday. I wish I could quote every page to you. It is beautifully written and photographed. It is not a typical magazine. Every article is about finding the beauty in the day to day. So much of it is similar to things I’ve written about here…only more beautifully written by them.
The sun is setting earlier in the day now here. We’ve been enjoying warm afternoons and fall sunlight. I know in the photos below you can’t really see any of my kid’s faces…that is okay with me. I like the feelings of simpicity and warmth that filling the picture with sunlight gives. A fall afternoon…seeing the everyday beauty of the before dinner breakdowns!

After knocking down branches with dirt balls the boys wanted to head out to the trampoline. This first picture I took of my oldest instructing the youngest two. It is very much reflective of their relationships. Biggest Brother, 6, wanted to take pictures of the rest of us. Here are a few of what he captured.

Lindsay - Love that excerpt from the magazine. Thanks for sharing it – I’m definitely taking a look at that link!
allison - i too love those photos where the warm sun shines – i especially love to look at them in the cold winter!
Holly - He did a great job!
Yanet - I love the sunlight shots. Biggest Brother captured some great moments too. I’m too a BIG believer on capturing the everyday things. I’m going to have to look for the magazine. Sounds inspiring.
Gevay - I think he has inherited your eye for good photos. With a little more training you could have a mother and son photography business. Did you enjoy the CMA Awards last night? How was Gwyneth?
Meaghan - I love all the shots — especially the one of Firecracker. She’s so cute! The sunlight pictures are so nice to see, especially during this cold morning here in the Bluegrass.
Is Seeing the Everyday a magazine available at Barnes and Noble?
Sadie - Can I just say that I truly adore your outlook on life. You inspire me more than you know. THanks so much for your amazing posts. I am now off to look at the link of the magazine. Big Bro did an amazing job!
anne c - wow what a great job biggest brother at capturing some amazing moments! I would hire you on the spot!
Jessica - O the simple everyday things… definitely brings smiles to faces. However, I do believe I have 2 favorites out of these pictures. The first one is the bottom left picture of one of your boys and it’s the one to the left of the one of your daughter. (Sorry I don’t know the nicknames of your children, except for “Firecracker”) That picture looks as though the Lord is shining down on your son on his back and he’s soaking all of it in that he can. It needs to be used as an advertisement for a church conference or something.
Thanks for sharing these photos.
the second favorite is the one where your oldest son is telling your daughter and her brother what to do. If you haven’t, please look at her face. It’s as though she’s thinking “brother, i may WILLINGLY do what you ask now, but remember, I’m truly the one in charge here and I know where you live!” Her face is extremely priceless.
Anna - Love it! Beautiful pictures (as always) !
