I spent part of my weekend with 10 lovely ladies….most from the midwest, but Colorado, South Carolina & Canada were represented this time too! It still blows my mind that three of the ladies made such a huge trek. The weather wasn’t blazing hot like it had been for the summer SnapShops, so that was…

Actually women of all ages need to hear it and to listen to their bodies.

It was great to read Christine’s story and she’s so right about listening to one’s body.
After the arrival of my daughter I had health problems mainly with intense fatigue as well and loss of speech, swallowing abilities and facial movement – the doctors kept insisting it was postpartum depression – for almost 2 years. I knew better that there was something else wrong with me. Finally I had more tests done and was diagnosed with a proper diagnoses of a rare muscular disease – it wasn’t great news – but at least I had some answers and a treatment plan. And I finally felt relieved that I knew I was right all along…. Yes, listening to your body is the best thing you can do to yourself – don’t just pop in pain killers or gastrointestinal medications — your body is trying to tell you something.
Christine, you are wonderful and beautiful, I wish you a happy and healthy future – yes, distraction is the best way to get better – that’s why I even started my blog
xoxo

Gina Sharp - I was shocked to come across this story, as this is the first time I’ve read Ashley’s blog. On August 31, 2010, at the age of 45, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank goodness my only child is seventeen, and not so young like Christine’s. I had blood come out of my left nipple on two separate occasions. Each time it was a month apart. It has not happened since, and I think God was telling me that something was wrong. There is no lump, and I had a clean mammogram ten months earlier. I will be having a double masectomy on October 28. I am so happy to see that Christine is doing well, and looks so happy and beautiful. It gives me hope to read a story like Christine’s. God be with you and your family and much health and happiness.
