Well today is my last day in my 20s…and I am so good with that. The 20s were GREAT…SO SO SO GREAT. I gained an incredible husband and 4 super cool kids among tons of other great memories. My 30s are looking to be pretty exciting too. I am looking forward to tons of things (esp. 2 teenage boys!), too many to even begin listing here. One thing I never imagined happening in my 20s was the birth of a daughter…and yet here she is. Next week I am speaking to a group of moms in Owasso Glenpool about photography as a mom. They are working on an incredible project – which I will share more about later. Their project inspired these pictures….just me and my girl. I put my 50mm lens on, laid in a pile of pillows under a window and set the camera on fully automatic (no flash). My camera is super heavy, so I built some major arm muscles in my left arm taking these. All cropping is due to the fact that my arm was taking the picture and I was only guessing what was in focus and what was in the frame!

By the way…in yesterday’s comments I was called ‘spunky’ and ‘Snoopy’ for the first time….Jill, you have to explain the Snoopy, I don’t get it!

Ambrosia Low - Ashley, you were soooo amazing today at our MOFIA meeting! You left us all so inspired. I LOVE your blog and all your photos. I haven’t put my camera down today. I hope I can show each of my boys’ stories in our project! I really hope to do one of your SnapShops!!!
Rebekah Jean - Wow…the love in those photos is beautiful! and you and your daughter are both so lovely.
And the biplane experience…how incredible!! Must have been a serious, amazing thrill.
Amanda - Happy birthday to you!!!
patti - these are beautiful! and I actually think the cropping works.
Jeannette Swan - Awesome pictures. I’m curious about the project. Happy Birthday!
Nancy - Hey, did you know that Beth Moore’s daughter is turning 30 tomorrow too? It’s on their blog. Just a coincidence!
Jill R - Sorry – I should’ve explained. Yes, Karen is right. The picture of you in the plane reminded me of Snoopy from Peanuts when he is “flying” with his goggles and the scarf. Link to a picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Snoopy_wwi_ace_lb.jpg
AshleyAnn - Amanda one of the things that excites me about my 30s is saying ‘goodbye’ to all things maternity. I’ll come hold your 4 baby girls…then I’ll go play football with my teen and pre-teen boys!
amanda torres - Love them all. So precious. I think the only way to top the 20′s is to have another 4 kids. Maybe they’ll all be girls!
Liz - OHH… I’m dying to hear about this project because I live in Owasso! I have to agree with Shannon. I love the last one too!!
bopha - those pictures are priceless, and i 2nd that, your camera is super heavy!
Lacey McKay - Oh I love these! I’ll have to give that a try sometime! I just got finished speaking to a group of moms about photography last week! I was so nervous, but it was really fun!
karen brown - OK…so I am clearly not Jill, but I suspect she called you Snoopy as in the Red Baron. (Considering you were flying in the plane and all.) SO COOL by the way! I have been skydiving several times, but the rools in the plane…awesomeness! I got a night in a B&B for my 30th and got to go off b/c. 3 kids later…
Enjoy these times. The chiche that the days are long and the years are short is so very true. Happiest of Birthdays tomorrow!
AshleyAnn - Rachel…if you go to the “info” tab there is an “about me” page. On that page is a list of most of my equipment. I shoot with a Canon 5D.
Shannon Phillips - My favorite is the last one. My heart….it’s melting!
Ryan - The last picture is just adorable.
rachel - i would really LOVE to know the kind of camera and lens you use.
