It’s that time of year again…Rooster Days is this weekend. It may not be the state’s greatest festival, but it is the state’s oldest. If you are looking for something local to do, you should head on over there. The festivities begin Thursday night and there is a parade on Main St. Saturday morning.

I was looking for a logo to post and found this:

“What Carrie Underwood is performing at Rooster Days? How did I miss this? This is going to be one great Mother’s Day weekend!” My full country music fan self got so excited. Really, I am the mom that brainwashes my boys by telling them that country music is “cowboy music” so they will listen to it for 5 minutes instead of their daddy’s preschool worship cd…just being honest. Then reality hit…there is no way Carrie Underwood would be performing at Rooster Days…then I realized it was an ad for the 71st Annual Rooster Days. This year is the 78th. Bummer. I wonder if I heard her perform?
Well, here is the real logo. Not near as exciting as thinking I was going to get to go to a free Carrie Underwood concert.

Another option…quite drastically different from Rooster Days…is the Family Free Day at Philbrook. We love this, if you don’t have plans check out the Philbrook website.

Lauren - My kids are counting down the hours to Rooster Days! We’ll never be able to avoid it. We saw the first ride roll in days ago, and they tell me daily they “just can’t wait!”
Good thing they saved their money!
