DIY {Herb Garden}

Now I know this isn’t all that creative, but I also personally know several of you that read this blog and probably wouldn’t try this on your own…so a very simple idea for an indoor herb garden…

I used 4 small terra cotta plants and bases, 4 packages of seed for my favorite cooking herbs, glossy white spray paint, chalkboard paint

First I painted the pots with the white spray paint, added a small area of chalkboard paint, then planted the seeds. I will admit two days after planting the seeds I found herbs for a great price at a local nursery, so I replaced the seeds with plants already growing. It’s fun to have fresh herbs on hand, but more fun to look at when I am washing the endless amount of dishes my family produces.

Biggest Brother was so kind to add the dinosaur. I was washing dishes one day and looked up at the pots and noticed the dinosaur. When I asked him about it his response was, “I put it there. He was pretty hungry and he thought those were trees.” I left the dinosaur, he’s hungry afterall.

meg duerksen - that IS creative….what are you talking about?!

very cute.
especially the dinosaur. :)

amanda - Uhhh…I actually read the whole post about buying the plants…and I’m a teacher…should have read directions…

amanda - How long ago did you plant these? Mine so far are only 3-4 inches high.

amanda - I started my first windowsill gardent this year with cilantro, basil and parsley. There’s only one problem. I didn’t label them so now I’m waiting for them to get bigger so I can smell the difference betweent the cilantro and parsley. Chalkboard paint would have been smarter!

Lauren Roberts - Dinosaurs have to eat too!

Shannon Phillips - I have always wanted to do this but tell me the truth, will I kill them?
