Rett’s first camping trip

We had a great time camping…it was a little hot though. I’m hoping November isn’t too cold and we can do it again before winter. Rett seemed to enjoy himself until about 1:00am, at which he decided to wake up about once an hour. The boys enjoyed the lake - I don’t do lake water.

Here’s Everett showing off his abs while his brothers helped set up the tent.

So excited to be able to throw rocks in the water without hearing me say “stop throwing rocks Hudson”

Corbett has been our fisherman since about the time he could walk

Everett laying down for his first nap in the tent - took awhile to get him to lay down :)

One of the best parts of camping with kids…they passed out and slept for over 12 hours the next night

Kale {3 weeks}

While looking at this session I told Chris it is a good thing we want more kids. I think I am going to have to quit photographing newborns when our family is complete - all these babies are too cute. This little guy quietly went back and forth between being awake and sleeping. Despite how much I moved him around he never made a peep. I often wonder what my clients think when I look around their beautiful homes and then choose to do the whole session in a random spot like the entry way for this one….

Chris picked this picture for the post…he loved that Kale was covering his face :)

Happy Friday!

Yeah…the work week is over and the weekend is beginning. Corbett and Hudson both went camping by the time they were 6 months old, so this weekend we are introducing Everett to the wonderful world of tent sleeping, campfires and the quietness of nature (well not that quiet considering Corb and Hud will be there too). Well not to post without a picture…Rett is enjoying cereal. However, between nearly every bite he makes this face…

DIY {misc. projects}

My photography schedule has been so slammed lately I haven’t been able to post many fun projects…so I combined some I previously saw online. They are in my “to make” file….which probably won’t happen until Nov. when things slow down. I am thinking of trying to do a post like this every so often, but I don’t want to unless there is an interest. So…if you would enjoy something like this more often, leave me a comment (even you lurkers that never comment). Thanks!

How About Orange’s Fabric Decals for walls, doors, you name it

BluePrint’s super cute Bangle Bag made from scarves and bangles…so easy

Design Sponge’s Birdie Serving tray and Wood Clock - I bought a wood burning tool for these

My Lifetime’s Retro Bottle Cap Clock - this one is seriously cute

Inspired Idea’s Making Memory Candles - great for old pictures

If only there were more hours in the day to make all these. I am thinking of doing some for Christmas gifts, but my taste is sometimes too ‘out there’ for some…we’ll see. I always second guess making stuff for friends - ya know don’t want to be that awkward friend that gives something that others feel obligated to keep or put out when I stop by! :)

Nicholas {a couple of weeks}

Another handsome baby boy! This little guy was so content and peaceful for the whole session…even with big sisters smothering him in kisses. Funny how hard it is to get big brothers to kiss on babies and how easy it is to get big sisters to do it….

DIY {yearbookyourself.com}

Sorry for the blog issues earlier today….I think I got that cleared up….

My sister did this on her blog and it cracked me up…I am easily entertained. After the boys went to bed, I convinced Chris to do this with me. The sad reality to these pictures is the only haircut I haven’t had is the first one.

POST UPDATE: My sister pointed out how much we look alike on these, so I had to share. I am 2 years older….

Guess who turned 6 months over the weekend?! We introduced him to cereal and don’t be surprised if next time you see me I weigh 40lbs. Preparing food, feeding, & cleaning for a 6 month old, 2 yr old & 4 yr old is a neverending task! Yesterday I ate Chick-fil-A in my closet just so I could get something down without having to share it or be interrupted!

The Arterberry’s {family session}

It is funny how so much of a child’s personality is wrapped up in age…these 3 beautiful kids are nearly the exact ages of my boys. It was fun for me to see how similar they were to my kids, while totally different at the same time. They have such a beautiful family….

Aiden {2 weeks}

This tiny 2 week old is so STRONG…he was lifting that little head of his and looking all around. As I looked at some of the pictures from his session, I just love the black & white ones so I mainly posted those this time. Aiden’s mom and I were teammates (gymnastics) way back in the day….like nearly 2 decades ago!

Anderson {1 1/2 years}

It has been a year since I last saw Anderson…he’s still got the blondest hair and eyelashes I have ever seen! He wasn’t too fond of me at first, but warmed up a bit. Can’t blame him - I sure wouldn’t want someone chasing me and sticking a camera in my face! He really has such a sweet and calm little personality, but still very much all boy.

His mom handed him a water bottle for a little entertainment…cutie.

The Edwards {family session}

This session was scheduled for last Saturday night…the same time the storms from Hurricane Ike were scheduled to arrive in Tulsa. I was pretty sure we’d have to reschedule, but we played it by ear moving the session up. I left my house, where it was raining and dark, and arrived downtown to perfect overcast skies and not a sprinkle. Within minutes of finishing the session the rain began! I love this first picture of the girls…most parents opt for park settings with this age, but I think the urban location worked great.

I love these baby legs! One day they will look like her big sister’s, but right now…how cute!!
