Sarah, I was so excited that you had an idea for the lava to erupt (see comments on the last post). On our walk tonight I stopped by the gas station and picked up a box of strawberry mentos and a diet pepsi. When we got home I put the mentos in a bottle then added the pepsi….nothing. This is a pic of me shaking it to see if that would help…what am I missing?
Ryan did that in China and it worked . . . I don’t remember the specifics, though. I love that you are pointing the bottle towards the boys as you shake it and that it looks like Corbett is chewing on, what must be, a strawberry mento!

I think you did it all right on the baking soda and vinegar except that what I remember you use warm water in the bottle, put in your food coloring with 6 drops of detergent, 2 tablespoons of baking soda and slowly pour in vinegar and that should make the eruption work
we have done this but used only the mint mentos and the whole 2 liter. maybe that is the trick?
Ryan said he used the original flavor and Diet Coke.
Do a search on youtube for diet coke and mentos! There are some funny videos and demonstrations how to do it!
